"Harry the Hand"

This was a post on the Health Literacy Listserv – posted Holly Biola, MD, MPH with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. As we are all concerned about proper handwashing, it is encouraging to know about something like this — written in an understandable manner.

Holly wrote “Just a plug for Henry the Hand in these times of concern about handwashing.

This is a curriculum that was started for young schoolchildren, but it’s written at the right level for what we do…and some of the music is even catchy.

This is a 501c3 started by a solo family doctor when his kids went off to preschool…it’s pretty good stuff. (The curriculum was endorsed by the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians in 2001)

Happy Handwashing!”
