I received the following notice from Audrey Pernik, Communications Specialist; American Public Health Association; 800 I Street NW; Washington, DC 20001; Direct: (202) 777-2509. She asked to “spread the word” about how SMALL changes can make a HUGE difference.
“I wanted to make sure you were aware that National Public Health Week begins today. This year, our nationwide initiative focuses squarely on what individuals can do to promote a “healthier America.” I wanted to share with you our brand new video that illustrates how you play a meaningful role in improving the health of your community. Whether it’s inviting a friend to take a walk or advocating for local smoke-free policies, it takes ordinary people to make extraordinary change.
According to a new survey commissioned by the American Public Health Association, people are on the right track to improving community health. Results show 64 percent of Americans have already made healthy changes to their lifestyle while 21 percent are thinking about making healthy changes.
I encourage you to take a look at the video and spread the word about how small actions can lead to big changes.”
