Watch for Launch of NLM 175th Anniversary Web Site, Press Release About Anniversary, Early Next Week!

As you know, NLM is celebrating its 175th anniversary this year. Next week, NIH will issue a press release about the anniversary. Watch for it on the NLM home page and in your NLM News and Events RSS feed, and feel free to use its language as you publicize the big anniversary year.

An exciting development is the launch of the new 175th anniversary Web site, which will debut next week. It will include details on NLM’s history, its programs and services, and anniversary year events. It will also include anniversary logos in various formats, which you may want to add to your own Web sites and publications, and will host a list of commemorative products. URL for this new site will be:

A number of special programs in support of the Library’s mission are planned. They include: a scientific symposium commemorating NLM’s 175th anniversary; contests to recognize original short videos that promote awareness of NLM’s information products and services, and creative applications that demonstrate the greatest potential to deliver information to the public using NLM data resources; and other activities throughout the year.

You’ve probably also heard about NLM staff members’ special “numerical” salute to the 175th anniversary. You can read more about that happening at: <> . That photo, which is in the public domain, is also available at <> .

We’ll keep you apprised of other anniversary developments. Questions may be directed to Melanie Modlin at 301-496-6308 or at
