Inaugural Ohio Health Literacy Conference on Oct. 11-13, 2011

Registration is now open for the inaugural Ohio Health Literacy Conference on Oct. 11-13 in Cleveland.

The conference aims to increase health literacy awareness, share resources to improve health literacy and ultimately health outcomes, and provide tools to increase health literacy capacity at the local, regional, and state levels.

Speakers include:

– Richard Carmona, MD, MPH, FACS, 17th Surgeon General of the United States

– Andrew Pleasant, PhD, Canyon Ranch Institute

– Christina Cordero, PhD, MPH, The Joint Commission

– Cynthia Baur, PhD, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

The conference will also include a panel discussion on statewide initiatives (Wisconsin, Missouri, Minnesota, and Ohio) and a pre-conference Plain Language Writing workshop.
